In this class you will learn and make top-down “shortie” socks using circular needles (no double pointed needles necessary!) You will learn the basics of sock knitting and how to adjust for different foot sizes and have some fun along the way. Join knitter/designer/comedian Julie Nye for this 3-part, in-person class at KnitWit in Portland!
Prerequisite: You must be comfortable knitting in the round.
Classes will be held on Saturdays, March 7, 14, and 21, 2026. 12:00 - 2:00 at 34 Danforth St in Portland, Maine.
You will need:
- one US size 3 circular needle, 9” or 12"
- one US size 3 circular, any length
- one skein of fingering weight yarn
- stitch markers
- scissors
