The tips of these needles are great: not too pointy like bamboo, nor too slippery like metal, but I just knitted a hat on them and the stitch loops always got stuck advancing from plastic "wire" to the needle. I had to stop constantly and ease them over the metal joint. No such problem slipping them over the needle in my right hand.
