Sitting along Higgins Stream in Harmony, Maine is the last "mule spun" spinning mill producing fine quality wool yarns in the United States. Bartlettyarns is spun on the "woolen system" for a traditional home spun appearance, softer twist and more bloom than worsted yarns.
This mill has been in continual operation since 1821 and is proud of its strong heritage. Bartlettyarns prides itself in partnering with other small American businesses, such as local sheep producers as well as scouring and dye plants to keep this American product authentic.
Each skein is 4 ounces with 210 yards. The gauge is approximately 4 stitches to the inch on US 8 needles producing a worsted weight yarn.
