Arriving January 2024, Issue 48 (Spring 2024) will be our final Issue!

It is with bittersweet pride that we present the 48th and final issue of Pom Pom Quarterly. The title of this edition, Check Mate, has many meanings to us at this time, but most importantly, it marks the end of a wonderful journey. This knitted and crocheted ode to wovens includes patterns we believe any maker will be proud to create. With two needles or a hook, these designs were inspired by the beauty of weaving and pay a special tribute to this ancient sister craft.

From plaids worked in various ways and on various scales, to beautiful colourwork designs that reference overshot weaving, we love the way our designers have highlighted the sisterhood between yarn-based mediums and the common thread that runs through textiles.

Inside this final issue you will also find a luxurious coaster weaving tutorial from Woven Glow, a written piece on her family's weaving traditions from Jennifer Berg, and a delicious braided challah bread recipe from Challah Back Girls.

 Featuring designs by:

Marie Régnier // Susan Lin  // Giuseppina Flamini // Yessabett Bueno  // Stine Hoelgaard // Olivia Glennon // Sara Ottosson // Julia Wilkens // Jule Kebelmann // Elspeth Vance

Crochet Anthology

After ten years of publishing knit-focussed collections with just a sprinkling of crochet we thought it was about time we leaned into our love of this often less-celebrated craft and released a special anthology of some of our most loved crochet classics from the Pom Pom archive.  Featuring ten garment and accessory patterns across 128 pages in our vintage Pom Pom size, this surprise edition is perfect for on-the-go crafting this summer!

As crocheters, we know how amazing it is to build something wearable from little stacked loops, and we hope you enjoy creating the pieces in this anthology as much as we enjoyed putting it together.

To round things off in true Pom style, there's a recipe for Bebinca, a traditional Goan dessert that, like crochet, grows in layers. Crafting is hard work after all, and we can’t live on stitches alone!

Featuring tried and true designs by: Ana D // Gina Fama Röckenwagner // Meghan Fernandes // Julia Madill // Isa Catepillán // Inyoung Kim // Lucia Luciano // Judith Brand
